MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2016
RAW comes in different forms, it refers to a state of purity – influencing society, our bodies, our souls, objects and our psychology. Digitalization techniques are being increasingly used due to their abilities in providing new and interesting opportunities for design process; in contrast, traditional artisan techniques have equally increased in popularity due to their individuality and natural aesthetic.
In 2016, SBODIO32 generated a space for this paradox between RAW and Digital. Achieving an extraordinary innovative platform for Designers, Architects and Visual Artists from different fields and different cultures. These came together for one event during the six continous days of Fuorisalone / Design Week, along with various workshops in the medium of advanced fabrtication and digital technologies.

In collaboration with Architects Stefano Paiocchi and Arian Hakimi from Zaha Hadid Architects. This design and research workshop explores the new computational fashion design methods and techniques as tools for creative expression and design intelligence. The workshop immerses participants into computational design thinking and the exploration of the new design possibilities associated with it and it seeks to create an inventive and collaborative environment in which investigate the overlap between architecture and fashion.
In April 2016, Ezgaat and Noumena collaborated once more to establish the Woven Wood Workshop at SBODIO32 warehouse for the Milan Design Week 2016 main installation.
This project explores the performance of a timber woven lightweight structure through digital fabrication and hygroscopic assembly. The research investigates the surface morphology of strip pattern configuration through the limits of unrollable twisted stripes.
RAW virtual reality
In Collaboration with the American Photographer Dennison Bertram. The Gol Goatha project explores the concept of a hybrid Virtual Reality film that blends elements of theater, meta-reality and sensory exploration.
Conceptually growing out of the idea that panic, claustrophobia and fear are powerful meta-interoceptive senses, the experience is designed to explore how different layers of psychological suggestion are critical in creating the "reality" of a virtual experience.
In RAW 2016, SBODIO32 has partnered with Santi Eventi to bring "floristeria". Massimo Santi and David Beltran established the best green pause with healthy, raw and natural menu: bowl salads, green wraps, detox soups, fresh smoothies, fruit salads and vegan cakes; guarantees a lot of activities of entertainment with events, music and parties involving the Best Milan Crews and entertaining with contemporary sounds, from cumbia-jazz to global drum ’n base, from electronic music to the “sonido amazonico”.
Special Thanks to Panorama Sound, Funclab Collective, Olympia, Akeem of Zamunda, We Riddim, NUL, Marcelo Burlon and everyone who contriubted the unique musical ambiance.
